Alfred Nobel, a clever scientist from Sweden, invented dynamite, an explosive. Born in 1833, he had a passion for chemistry. Though his invention was powerful, it was also dangerous. To be remembered for more than this, he left his money to start the Nobel Prizes, special awards given annually for outstanding work in science, literature, and peace. Today, Alfred Nobel is remembered not only for his invention, but also for his contribution to making the world a better place.
